The Jurassic coast is known as the birthplace of palaeontology. The site, Broadcroft Quarry on Portland Island, is steeped in history and is one of the best preserved examples of this unique Portland landscape.
A proposal developed in conjunction with RPBW, was to create a paleontological museum and educational experience. Visitors would pass through layers of rock strata, representing millions of years of history. The collection of fossils would be housed underground together with an aquarium. At the base of the museum, visitors could emerge through a cave into the spectacular Jurassic amphitheatre.
