Burgas Cultural Centre
Our proposal for the Park Zone 3 cultural centre in Burgas, Bulgaria, is conceived as an inhabited landscape where architecture, park, and public life merge into a seamless civic destination. Organised as a series of interconnected volumes, courtyards, and terraces beneath a luminous environmental roof, the project blurs the boundary between inside and outside. Permeable by day and luminous by night, the roof becomes an emblem of the project and an icon for Burgas.
Reinstating historic pedestrian routes and opening the site for the first time in decades, the building creates an accessible, human-scaled landmark that responds sensitively to Burgas' urban fabric while embracing passive environmental strategies. Framed by an ecological park of native planting and outdoor performance spaces, the centre becomes a vibrant cultural landscape that is open, adaptable, and deeply rooted in its place.
